Who or what influenced your interest in Dogs and Dog Events

I had had pets all of my life, but went through a 5 year period of having no pets.  I then got my first Golden Retriever in 1995 and took her to an obedience class run by Pam Martin at Top Dog.  She suggested I go to a show which was held at Big Town (I think).  I was so impressed by what I saw!   That was it, I joined Karen Bishop’s competitive obedience class and that was it!

How long have you been participating with your Dogs

On and off since 1997.

What Breeds have you owned

I have had Golden Retrievers for almost 30 years, before that English Springer Spaniels and an Irish Setter.

What are your Goals

Primary goal is to enjoy and have fun working with my dogs.  With my current dog (Carly), targeting a UDX.  My other dog Nacho has 6 conformation points and is also working on obedience.  Time will tell where he will be able to go!

What is your favorite Memory involving a Dog

Accomplishing my UD title with my Novice A dog

What Events they’ve Attended

Multiple shows, Golden Retriever Club of America Specialties

Contributions to LSDOC

I joined LSDOC and two months later Covid shut everything down.  Looking forward to being able to help LSDOC with club events now that things are opening back up.

Favorite Location where you have shown your Dog

My favorite show has to be the July Houston Shows.  I love the obedience area, all the shopping, and all the different dog events all in one place….…
